HISTORY OF THE HOTEL

Hotel Purkmistr is located next to the world-famous archbishop's castle (for example, the film AMADEUS by director Miloš Forman was shot here). The Podzámecká Garden, which is a real historical gem, will definitely entice you to take a walk. You can easily spend the whole day in the castle and the surrounding gardens. Another important landmark of the city is the FLOWER GARDEN, where you will see perfectly groomed flower beds, a colonnade, a rotunda, there are two greenhouses in operation all year round - tropical and cold. To the north of Kroměříž you can take a pleasant walk around the Morava River and to the east you can visit the open-air museum in Rymice, Tlumačov ponds and a windmill.

The house is believed to be founded in the first half of the 15th century, but due to the damage of the town archives during the Thirty Years' War, the data preserved are only from 1612. The most important owner of the house was Jan Adam Lontano, who later also became the mayor of the city. The name of the hotel is based on these historical events. Later, a number of burghers owned the house, until in 1948 the town of Kroměříž became the owner.
